Music by "Amici della musica"

The Association "Amici della musica" (friends of music) was born in San Mauro Pascoli thanks to the interest of the Municipal Administration, with the aim of disseminating a cultural and educational meeting that can enrich people regardless of the differences that distinguish them, using a simple but universal language: "the music".

This is the reason that over the years has guided the activity of the Association, which in collaboration with other important cultural realities of the territory (Italia Nostra, Accademia Pascoliana and Sammauroindustria) has been called to participate with various types and musical instrumental genres to important events, such as the "Premio Pascoli", "Note sotto l'ombrellone" and "Un Talento per la Scarpa".

The Association of Music and the Band Instrumental Complex have been confirmed over the years. The school is attended annually by a hundred students from San Mauro, Gatteo, Savignano sul Rubicone and Santarcangelo di Romagna. Over time it has increased the instrumental offer of the various classes, promoting genres of music ranging from classical, modern to jazz has activated music education projects in the primary schools of San Mauro.

For more than 135 years the "Amici della Musica" band instrumental ensemble continues to follow the people of our territory with constant and growing commitment in cultural, folkloristic, religious and civil events. Students, artisans, farmers, entrepreneurs, retirees of all categories, professionals from all walks of life and naturally shoe makers belong to our group; new young and new youngsters coming from our School of Music.
Since 1999 the group has been directed and prepared by Mr. Fabio Bertozzi, with whom the Band Instrumental Complex has taken part in important cultural events.
In 2001, on the occasion of the centenary of Giuseppe Verdi's death, our Band Instrumental Ensemble in collaboration with the "Bonci" choir of Cesena and the "Regina" choir of Cattolica, forming an ensemble of 130 elements, gave life to a an exciting concert at the "Bonci" theater in Cesena, recording a full house.

In the same year a close collaboration was born between the Instrumental Band Ensemble and the well-known theatrical and television actor David Riondino, with whom important cultural-theatrical events were realized, such as the "Giardino della Poesia" at the court of Villa Torlonia in San Mauro and the "Teatro del Mare" in Bellaria. The band has subsequently challenged the umpteenth challenge with the execution of the reworking made by Fabrizio de André of the LP "Not to money, not to love or to heaven" taken from Spoon River's anthology. This year he made instead the theatrical-musical show "Francesca da Rimini" with the participation of the well-known actress Lunetta Savino.

Very striking were the concerts of the band that were held at the dawn of August 15th by the sea at San Mauro Mare, becoming a regular appointment, followed by a large audience.

In recent years, the group has therefore engaged in events that have made it grow the passion, enthusiasm and cultural drive of those who have performed and listened, thus refining an already vast and varied repertoire, ranging from "simple" marches symphonic to the songs of national-popular music, from the most famous opera and choral arias to the most historical classical compositions, to the pieces of light music and film soundtracks.
